What is the difference between la rivière and le fleuve ?

I think there are two different words in French for a river. They are la rivière and le fleuve.
What is the difference between them? How to use them correctly?

Basically, "un fleuve" is bigger than "une rivière". For the Seine or the Garonne or the Rhin, we'll talk about "fleuves"
