Polish proverbs with audio

When learning a language I like to learn proverb, saying and expressions. I struggle to find some popular Polish proverbs. Can you write some below? To have them with audio files would be great. Thanks a lot!

Hi Stefan, sure, not a problem. I did a search and it is actually quite a lot, insteady of typing polish proverbs put polskie przysłowia. However, many of the results show a lot of proverbs and it is difficult to say which of them are popular and actually in use. So I have chosen a few proverbs people actually use. I will try to add some more when I have time.

Polish proverb Sound Meaning
Bez pracy nie ma kołaczy without work there is no bread no pain, no gain
Darowanemu koniowi nie zagląda się w zęby never look a gift horse in the mouth
Nie chwal dnia przed zachodem słońca don't praise your day before the sunset don't count your chickens before they hatch
Lepszy wróbel w garści niż kanarek (gołąb) na dachu a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush
Co wolno wojewodzie, to nie tobie, smrodzie a person in position of authority is allowed to get away with more
Co nagle, to po diable haste makes waste
Na bezrybiu i rak rybą beggars can't be choosers
Nosił wilk razy kilka, ponieśli i wilka "the wolf carried a few times, and the wolf was carried too" this refers to the wolf stealing sheep or other livestock to eat a few times before it was killed and carried as a trophy by hunters
Trafiła kosa na kamień takes one to know one
Gdyby kózka nie skakała, toby nóżki nie złamała. lack of moderation can lead to adverse results

Hi Stefan, not a problem. Yes, I think if you try to use these Polish proverbs in conversation, you will remember them better. Also, pay attention when somebody else uses them. These proverbs are quite popular and I am sure that sooner on later you will master them. I am learning French at the moment and will try to remember a few French proverbs as well.
