Is it possible to learn Italian in 6 months?

Ciao!😀 Yes, it is possible but it highly depends on your experience and how much Italian is part of your life. If your native language is Chinese, you've only learned English and you live in China with no Italian friends close to you, then of course it is going to be harder to make it in 6 months. But everything is possible. Learn it in a balanced way by reading, listening, writing and especially speaking!

I watched a documentary on YouTube a few months ago about two guys going to a few countries for a few months. I think they visited 4 countries altogether in a year. They had this rule that they would only communicate in the language of the country they visit. It turned out that they spoke the new language pretty well (although fluent).

Also, it was not clear how much vocabulary they actually knew. I suspect they knew all the common words but might found it difficult to read texts in the original.

To sum this up, yes if such a total immersion is possible, you can speak a language after only a few months. However for the majority of learners this is not possible and for that reason the process takes much longer.
