Hello there, Pawel here from Repeto team. We are trying to improve our courses and I need some information. Can you help and give us some feedback, please? When you start the lesson you see the Slides and after a short Translation exercise: Slides Translation exercise Can you please write some honest answers: Do you like the Slides? Do you like Translation exercise? Which of them do you like more? Would you prefer to go straight to the story without any exercises? You can also write other feedback about Repeto? What do you like about Repeto? What do you dislike? What can we change to improve? Thank you very much, we appreciate your feedback!

As I approach 4,000 on the medals odometer, I have plenty of feedback. It is mostly good.

The slides are good. Eight is a good number. A picture can help memorise the word. An option to skip past the slides would be good for experienced users.

The listening exercise is easier but all parts of the lessons are worthwhile. Perhaps slow down the speech. The single character words like "w" can be hard to hear in a sentence.

I like the simple medals counter with a medal per lesson and the ability to easily repeat specific lessons. Repeto has the edge over Duolingo for that. I also like the Repeto point and click (or drag) system. It is easy to do a quick lesson, even on the phone. Needing to use a keyboard on Duolingo and typing special characters slows down the lesson or can stop it.

Repeto is also better than several other apps but needs more content and users.

Most of that feedback is based on Polish.

I'll add more feedback as I think of it today.

Free Trial Period Beginners

To get more new users, I would extend the free trail to at least one month. Once users feel like they are making progress, they are more likely to upgrade their account. If they don't upgrade, don't do a PolishPod by sending heaps of daily spam messages with never ending offers.

Do an updated video showing how the program works and sample lessons. Also do an entry level lesson explaining the alpabet, especially in Russian.

Further Language Explanations -

For example in Polish there are three words for Sunny (Słoneczny) but I don't understand why or how to use them. Also three words for Hungry (głodny).

Program Errors / Content -

There are a few minor errors where words are missing and you have to close the program to get past it. A whole section on the German didn't work at all when I looked a few weeks ago. The Polish has good content and more being added every week. Other languages have minimal content. Some languages don't have the slide show pictures.

If you add a spelling activity, make sure you can click and drag the individual characters on the screen, incase users don't have a good keyboard.

More languages might be good, something like Icelandic or Finnish.

Lastly -

Maybe update the incentive messages at the end of each lesson. Instead of "Drink more water" have a Fun-Fact or something relating to the country or language. Maybe a picture of a Castle (Zamek) and insert name and location. Or Forest (Las) and an example of one in the region.

Thanks again Repeto for a great program and reading the suggestions. I realise you don't have the resources (and high fees) of others like Rosetta Stone. I look forward to earning another few thousand medals.

Hi Rowan, thanks a lot for informative feedback. We got some more information via email and I will share the suggestions later on.

It is great you like learning with Repeto but you are right, there are many things we can improve. As you know the team is quite small so it takes time but we will get there 😀

Answering some of your points..

Thanks again for great feedback Rowan, it will help us to improve Repeto 😀

Thank you Rowan, I have fixed Polish ones.

The daher was incorrectly linked to Polish lesson. Regarding od czasu do czasu I had to unlink it from the lesson (application "thinks" czasu is a duplicate and deletes it). But we will figure out how to fix it for good.

BTW, do you think this exercise with translation should be more difficult and include more random words?

Thanks for the fixes.

Re Translation exercise - A1, A2 and the current B lessons are about right. If you add future harder lessons, you could add 50 % more words including random words. .... Another thought, given the Repeto repetition idea, have a counter next to each lesson. Then you would see that you had repeated some 20 times and others only 5 times.
